Calls for prayers and quick recovery wishes for hospitalized Border Police officer Barel Shmueli continued to pour throughout the day from public officials, as former Jerusalem mayor and Likud lawmaker Nir Barkat wished him a full recovery.

“We need to act vigorously against radical Islamic terrorism,” Barkat said.

“The lack of response and weakness of the Bennett-Lapid government in the face of terror attacks against the State of Israel and the targeting of IDF fighters desperately harms our deterrence and brings about more attacks,” he stated.
