Yigal and Hadas Krihali-David arrived at the kibbutz three weeks ago with the three children from Ashkelon. Not far from Miguel and Hadas, Kitty Levy lives with her husband and their three children. She also arrived at Kibbutz Nirim after Operation Guardian of the Walls. "I did not hear an alarm here," she said. "We moved a month ago, we arrived from Kiryat Gat. Our concern was solely about the children from their adaptation and integration. Vered Gilour, her husband Elad and their two children, arrived in Kissufim after the operation ended. "The security situation does not scare me. I experienced the second intifada. Vered added that the family had come to the kibbutz a lot in the past. "We always dreamed of reaching the kibbutz and then we found Kissufim. We went to several kibbutzim in the envelope, and here we found the community we were looking for. My husband Elad insisted on reaching the Gaza envelope due to ideology and Zionism."

"There are noises of explosions from the moment we arrived," says Vered, but adds that "there was no alarm here. Bnei Ayish also had alarms and we know the issue."

Tal and Shuki Peer Danino have been in Kissufim for a year and they are considered veterans there. They had already managed to go through a round of war. "We arrived from Nahariya a year ago. I had concerns both because of the security situation and the distance from the families and we were looking for a community, and specifically a place where we only commit to a trial period."
