Number of refugees arriving to Europe will increase by 59% in 2021

European border agency, Frontex has announced that the number of illegal refugees crossing European borders in 2021 stands at 82,000, a 59% increase compared to a year ago.
In July alone, Frontex registered 17,300 illegal crossings, an increase of 33% from the month of June.
The agency mentioned that the number of refugees grew in its eastern borders, as more than 3,000 crossings registered between Lithuania and Belarus, 180 in Poland, and 200 in Latvia.
Most crossings registered were from the Mediterranean Sea and second place in Balkan countries.
Most refugees came from Tunisia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Algiria, Syria, Afghanistan and Turkey.
