Last February, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) announced that Denmark and Sweden had joined the "European Shield" initiative led by Germany, bringing the number of participants to 17 countries, including 15 NATO allies, Finland and Sweden.
Major disagreements have divided European countries over Germany's plan to build a European missile defense system ("sky shield"), according to what was reported in the French newspaper "Le Monde".
The newspaper also said that more than 15 European countries want to be involved in Germany's plan for the European missile defense system.
The newspaper noted that Paris opposes Germany's plan to build a missile defense system with American and Israeli equipment.
WHY THE FRENCH OPPOSE THIS MOVE:
Apparently the French opposition to the pan-European project stems from the desire to force the European countries to develop on their own, while giving France a central role, an air defense system, similar to that of Israel, and to leave the billions of dollars, the cost of such a system in 15 countries, within the Union the European, while leaving a large share of the revenue in the French pocket.
WHY THE FRENCH ARE WRONG:
The difference is that the Israeli-American system is completely operational and has been tested for a long time under real battlefield conditions, while in Europe they will have to start a development that will take years, and may even cost more than the current proposed cost, not to mention that the system will not have combat experience equivalent to the Israeli one.
And the more serious question... Does Europe even have extra time before it finishes defending itself before it experiences a disaster like Ukraine? This is a question that is difficult to predict the answer to in light of the cynical behavior of the corrupt internal organizational politics of the European Union which sees money as the vision of everything and the security of the citizens of the Union comes only after financial gain.
