On this day in 1978, 38 Israeli civilians, including 13 children, were murdered in the Coastal Road massacre when a bus was hijacked by Fatah terrorists. This was one of the most devastating attacks in Israel’s history. 

The Palestinian Authority continues to honor those who carried out the terrorist attack. In 2015, a monument was unveiled in Ramallah to commemorate Dalal Mughrabi, the terrorist who led the massacre.
