Israel completed its first interception series via aerial lasers with success, the Defense Ministry announced on Monday.

The ministry’s Administration for the Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure, Elbit Systems and the Israel Air Force managed to shoot down unmanned aerial vehicles in various distances and heights using the aerial laser system that was installed on a jet.

Defense Minister Benny Gantz congratulated the agencies responsible for “the technological breakthrough. You are advancing us closer today to another important goal of the multi-level defense array of the State of Israel.”
