Did the visit of the special American envoy Amos Hochstein to Lebanon this week also lead to a breakthrough in contacts for the import of (Israeli) gas from Egypt to Lebanon? 
 
There is no clear answer, but what is clear is that a spokesman for the Lebanese Ministry of Energy announced today that the "final" agreement to import gas from Egypt will be signed on June 21. 

However, the notice does not have a specific date for the actual start of delivery. As mentioned, the arrangement for the supply of gas from Egypt via Jordan and Syria to Lebanon was raised a year ago but has not been implemented so far. The Lebanese claimed only last week that it was the US that was imposing "political" difficulties on the deal, but Hochstein claimed that what was holding back was Egyptian-Lebanese disagreement.
