Iran said to be strengthening Hamas' cyber capabilities

Sources in Hamas told the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar on November 15 that Hamas had significantly improved its cyber capabilities in recent years and that it had been able to detect Israeli spyware and even use it against Israel. Hamas claims that Israel used Pegasus spyware and other sophisticated spyware to hack into the phones of senior members of the Palestinian "resistance" factions or of senior members of the "resistance" axis led by Iran.

This is a secret intelligence war between Israel and the terrorist organizations that has been going on for more than 15 years, it has intensified following the widespread use of smartphones and the development of spyware to track them, Israel has complete control over all communications in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Sources in Hamas claim that the organization's engineers exposed the infiltration of IDF Unit 8200 into the telephones of senior members of the organization, following which senior Hamas officials began taking precautionary measures to prevent Israel from extracting intelligence from them. It penetrates the phones of Palestinians passing through the crossing, this is done as part of the security check at the crossing and Israel uses the information taken from the phones to blackmail Palestinians into working as collaborators with the Israeli GSS.

About six months ago, during Operation Guardian of the Wall, the IDF and the GSS in a special operation eliminated Juma Tahla, the head of Hamas' cyber network who was the right-hand man of the terrorist rabbi Muhammad Daf, the chief of staff of Hamas.

Iran assists Hamas in the cyber field and has diverse capabilities for action against Israel that will be used in the next war, it has a well-developed cyber array and it deals with espionage operations, counterterrorism and even cyber attacks on Israeli targets. "Security sources estimate that in the next round of fighting with Hamas, he will try to carry out cyber attacks on Israeli government institutions, hospitals, banks and energy companies." Hamas is constantly monitoring the cyber attacks attributed to Israel and is likely to try to emulate them, "said a senior security official.
