We Can’t Let This Happen!

Have a look on a map at Gush Etzion and then at Kiryat Arba.
In order to achieve territorial contiguity between eastern Gush Etzion and the Mount Hebron region, the State of Israel can/should pave a road.
However, for years already, the entire area has been plagued with illegal Arab construction, rendering the two blocs of Jewish settlement almost secluded enclaves. Even if the Israeli government wanted to build a road to connect Gush Etzion and Mount Hebron, it would be virtually impossible – due to the illegal takeover.
But instead of enforcing the law and halting the illegal construction, the Civil Administration issued a military order designating the route a construction-free zone. In other words, although the CA isn’t stopping all the illegal construction in the area, at least it’s trying to prevent the land grab of where Israel can pave a road.
A few years ago, right along the route for the potential road, on Israeli state lands, an enormous, illegal quarry was opened. And if that wasn’t enough, recently, a huge sheep pen suddenly appeared on the route itself!
If the Israeli authorities don’t enforce the Order they themselves issued, there will be no road in the future; Kiryat Arba will be totally cut off from eastern Gush Etzion.
