The Turkish Lira continues to break negative records
Doron Peskin, Middle East Expert 16.11.2021
The Turkish lira weakened by 0.8% on Monday and reached a new low of 10.075 against the dollar.
The decline is attributed to fears of a further cut in the interest rate by the central bank this week.
The pound has lost more than 25 percent so far this year, largely due to doubts about monetary policy, in light of President Tayyip Erdogan's frequent calls to cut interest rates and his frequent changes at the top of the central bank.
