For the first time since "Guardian of the Walls" campaign, a peace summit called "Shared Life in Israel" took place in Haifa. The participants were Israeli President, Haim Herzog, Chairman of Federation of Local Authorities Israel, Haim Bibas, Archbishop of Akka, Youssef Abedallah Matta, Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi David Lau, Chairman of Muslim Association, Sheikh Nadir Hayeb,  spiritual leader of the Druze, Sheikh Muwaffak Tarīf and Head of the Local Cherkes Council, Zacharia Nabesu.
