Last May, during Operation Guardian of the Walls, the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM, formerly CAIR-CAN, an offshoot of the unindicted co-conspirator CAIR), urged the Canadian government to “condemn the attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque” and sent out a petition for supporters to:

Send a letter to Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mélanie Joly today to demand that our government:

Publicly condemns the Israeli incursions onto Al Aqsa and the killing of multiple civilians over the past few weeks violence

Works with their counterparts on the ground to work towards a peaceful resolution of the situation before further violence breaks out.

Chart forward a clear and public vision for how to hold Israel, one of Canada’s allies, accountable for repeatedly breaking international human rights law.

There was no mention (of course) of the fact that Israel’s retaliation was a defensive response to Hamas unleashing rocket fire against Israel in violence that started with Palestinian-instigated Temple Mount violence.

The NCCM and Melanie Joly (when she was Canada’s Heritage Minister) together maneuvered anti-Islamophobia Motion M-103 into prominence, with a taxpayer-funded 23-million-dollar package behind it. NCCM was one of the recipients of that money, to help monitor Canadians for “Islamophobia.” And here was the NCCM soliciting public letters for Joly’s aid in the face of Palestinian aggression.

In a further show of audacity from the NCCM, the group eventually demanded that 61 recommendations be met to satisfy its crackdown on “Islamophobia” against Canadians.

Lack of opposition to the NCCM’s aggressiveness has now led to its further emboldening. The NCCM is now taking its gloves off again in its open support for Palestinian violence on the Temple Mount, and blaming Israel.

Yet the NCCM claims to “stand with Jewish communities in denouncing antisemitism.”

73% of Palestinians actually believe a Qur’anic prophecy that Israel will collapse by June. And Mahmoud Al-Habbash, Palestinian Authority Supreme Sharia Judge who is also Mahmoud Abbas’ advisor, has stated: “In the same way as Muslim Prophet Muhammad engaged in war during Ramadan, so too the Palestinians should engage in ‘Jihad.’”

“Canadian Muslim Group Blames Israel For Violent Palestinian Rioting,” by Mike Fegelman, Honest Reporting, April 18, 2022:

For the first time in more than three decades, the holidays of Passover, Easter and Ramadan coincided, with billions of faithful around the world celebrating these holy days to Jews, Christians and Muslims.

For the vast majority of adherents across the globe, these festivities passed peacefully, but not everywhere.

A few days before Easter and Passover, in the ancient biblical city of Schechem, also known in Arabic as Nablus, Joseph’s Tomb, an ancient Jewish site believed to be the burial place of the biblical Joseph, was desecrated – for the third time in 22 years – by a mob of Palestinians who attempted to set the tomb ablaze. Not surprisingly, this issue was ceremoniously ignored by our media.

And in Jerusalem, a holy city for Jews, Christians and Muslims alike, the confluence of religious holidays was marked by Palestinian-Arab rioters in Jerusalem with the launching of incendiary devices and rocks towards Jewish worshipers, and violent altercations with Israeli police officers.

Shockingly, there were images of Palestinian rioters stockpiling rocks inside the Al Aqsa mosque – Islam’s third holiest site – to be used as weapons. The flag of Hamas – an Islamist terrorist group based in Gaza – was also seen displayed inside the mosque.

In contrast to the Palestinian territories, in Jerusalem, as Israel’s capital, people of all faiths have the freedom to worship, and in fact, since 1967, the Temple Mount’s Islamic edifices have been managed by the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf, an Islamic trust.

Against this backdrop of the abuse of Islamic holy sites by Palestinian extremists, one might have expected to see widespread condemnation by Canadian Muslim organizations against this appalling desecration and defilement of a sacred holy site. One organization, the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), published a condemnation, but rather than pointing the finger at the Palestinian perpetrators who committed the violence, it opted to blame Israel.

In an eblast and social media campaign sent on April 15, the NCCM wrote: “Earlier this morning, as hundreds were completing fajr prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque, Israeli soldiers attacked with rubber bullets, stun grenades and beatings with police batons. 150 worshippers were injured.”…….

……. The NCCM campaign, which encouraged readers and followers to write to Canada’s Foreign Minister, Melanie Joly, demanding a condemnation of Israel, is not only outright disinformation, but in our view, is egregious incitement.
