Could this gas field "save" Europe?

In these days of energy crisis as Europe is going through it seems that any news of the discovery of new gas fields raises hopes. This is exactly the case with Algeria's national energy company Sonatrach announcing the discovery of a new gas field in the Hassi a-Ramel area. It is estimated that the new field has between 300 and 400 billion cubic meters of condensed gas.

The Hassi a-Ramel area is located about 400km south of the capital Algeria and is known for its energy deposits. The important thing is that the new field is close to the pipeline leading gas from Algeria to Spain and Italy. It is assumed that they will be able to produce gas in an amount of 10 million cubic meters per day.

Algeria, which is the third largest gas supplier to Europe after Russia and Norway, supplies about 11% of the continent's gas needs.
