While the Ayatollah’s regime attempts to portray Iran as a modern, technologically advanced society, its economy teeters on the brink of disaster and its citizens battle blight, drugs, and prostitution, according to a recent report secretly filmed in Tehran.
The program was aired on Israeli TV on Sunday and was filmed by an Iranian dissident.
According to Israel’s Channel 12, the report represents the first known occurrence since the Islamic Revolution of 1979 that cameras shooting for an Israeli entity captured life in Iran.
The faces of the cameraman and the subjects with whom he speaks are blurred to protect their identities.
The cameraman laments the lack of freedom and democracy, blaming the authoritarian regime for the rampant crime plaguing Iranian society.
Despite the danger posed by exposing the regime’s corruption to its archenemy, Israel, the cameraman declares he must “stand and fight” to free Iran from the “dictators.”
The cameraman is not alone in blaming the regime for the nation’s woes, with the reports subjects expressing similar opinions.
According to Channel 12, the report is the first installment in an ongoing series.
