The Sky Rider unit is based on a UAV made by Elbit, known in its export version as Skylark. According to the Elbit website, the latest version offered for export is called Skylark 3.
This is a tactical UAV in the sense of flying to limited distances. It can be assumed that the IDF acquires additional capabilities in tools that are not allowed for export.
According to the Elbit website, this is a range of 100 km (or 50 km round trip). In Israeli terms, such a range can cover a large area if operated from the border, but in global terms, UAVs are able to cover tens of thousands of kilometers via satellite communications, hence the definition of RUH as tactical.
The unit consists of male and female fighters and simulator instructors. The interview with the commander of the RUCH school, Captain Niv Lichtman, will deal only with fighters. A battle that sums up a route in the north of the country.
The unit consists of two companies and another dedicated company. Routinely, the two companies are divided into Northern and Southern Commands. The Artillery Corps builds the force and the command activates it. The additional voyage undergoes dedicated training to support the commando brigade and operates routinely in Judea and Samaria. In the transition from routine to emergency, the two commanding companies are affiliated with combat divisions. The third voyage - with the commando.
