The networks confirmed the killing of the senior officer in the rank of Brigadier General in the ranks of the Assad militia, named Malik al-Salah, during extensive scanning operations carried out by the army for several days, in the Syrian desert.
According to activists, Brigadier General Malik al-Salah is accused of carrying out massacres of Syrian civilians in the city of Jisr al-Shaur, in the western rural area of Idlib province, while the regime still ruled the area there, before 2015.
Numerous senior Syrian army officers have been killed over the past two years, some dead under mysterious circumstances and others murdered, the most recent of whom was Col. Hussam Riyadh, who was killed by a car bomb blast on the southern highway in central Damascus.
