Israel's National Museum

In 1965, the Israel Museum is established in Jerusalem as Israel’s national museum. On the grounds of the museum, visitors also can visit the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls and other artifacts unearthed at Masada.
Today, the museum, which is the largest in the region, covers nearly 50,000 sq. meters and attracts 800,000 visitors a year, including 100,000 children who take part in workshops and events at the Youth Wing.
