However, the extent of the change in 17 government portfolios (excluding the main portfolios - security, internal, foreign) is the largest in the country's history.
Bahrain is the "weak link" between the Gulf states economically (external debt of about 130% of GDP last year) but also in terms of security, with Iran trying to destabilize it.
Reducing the representation of the ruling family in government is intended to reduce criticism of corruption and nepotism. The flow of new blood to the government is part of the desire to create economic momentum especially in light of the increase in revenue.
