President al-Sisi and his war on the Muslim Brotherhood

Egyptian tons release Nabil Shaath, former Foreign Minister of the PA, accused of supporting Muslim Brotherhood and distributing Pike News • Supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood, a terrorist organization.

The president of Egypt, 'Abd al-Fatah al-Sisi, is not letting go of the gas pedal when it comes to dealing with the "Muslim Brotherhood" movement in Egypt. When he came to power in 2014, he outlawed the movement and declared it a "terrorist organization", the movement's leaders who remained in Egypt, led by former Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, were prosecuted, many others fled abroad and found political refuge in Qatar and Turkey.

The Egyptian president shows devotion to purpose and determination. He is not afraid of international pressure and human rights organizations and continues to deal with an iron fist in the Muslim Brotherhood, which also has a military arm that deals with terrorism and also cooperates with the ISIS branch in northern Sinai.

An example of the Egyptian determination and zero tolerance of the Egyptian authorities towards the Muslim Brotherhood movement can be seen in the case of Rami Sha'at, the son of Nabil Sha'at, the former Palestinian foreign minister who has been very close to the Egyptian government for many years.

This week, the Egyptian authorities released Rami Shaath (50) from custody, he was detained for 900 days in an Egyptian prison in harsh conditions.

Shaath was forced to relinquish his Egyptian citizenship as a condition of his release, he was arrested in Cairo in July 2019 and prosecuted along with other activists on charges of aiding a terrorist organization, namely the Muslim Brotherhood and spreading false news (Pike News).

Shaath was one of the founders of the BDS movement in Egypt and a member of several secular political groups, but according to the Egyptian authorities, he also had secret activities for the Muslim Brotherhood. And then to Paris.

His French wife, Celine LeBron Shaath, urged the French government to release him. His father, Nabil Shaath, who has many ties to Egyptian intelligence, also worked hard for his release, but Egyptian President al-Sisi was not thrilled, even after French President Emmanuel Macron addressed him. On the subject, he continued to demonstrate the strong hand policy towards anyone associated with the Muslim Brotherhood.

French President Macron, who is well aware of the dangers of radical Islamic terrorism, expressed understanding for Egyptian President al-Sisi's position and clarified that "the issue of human rights will not be an obstacle in economic and military relations with Egypt."
