Charles Saint-Prot is by no means alone. The list of intellectuals who have capitulated to the jihad, or pretend that it doesn’t exist, is long on both sides of the Atlantic, and growing.

I have had the dubious honor of attending Charles Saint-Prot lectures on two occasions, with a fairly large space of time in between. The absurd thesis of his work is that on the whole, Islam is a harmless religion. And if there are any lingering hiccups, they shouldn’t be taken too seriously. Moreover, his unconditional support for Saddam Hussein and the Iraqi regime has led him to hate his Syrian Baathist rival, Bashar al-Assad. And this hatred, without serious foundation, has prompted him to support those who want to overthrow him. Logic. We can check it here.

And for that he expresses many untruths, and not only on Syria. Mr. Saint-Prot turns out to be a very bad liar. Lying well is not for everyone. Not everyone is François Mitterrand or Jacques Chirac.

At a recent conference, he rejected the notion of Judeo-Christian culture. Why not? Christianity and Judaism have indeed clearly evolved in two thousand years, moving away from each other, Christianity taking its independence from its mother religion, which itself has moved far away from the original Judaism via the Talmud.

But he proposed instead the term Islamo-Christianity! For Mr. Saint-Prot, they are two sister religions with very few differences. And he asserts that Islam did not harbor any particular hostility against Christianity. It is true that Islam seems to have more resentment against the Jews. But that does not prevent the fate of Eastern Christians from being appalling. And very revealing, too.

Islam cannot stand anything foreign to it anyway, especially in the religious realm. Wherever it settles, it tries to erase all traces of another civilization, of another culture (the destruction of the Buddhas in Afghanistan remaining the peak of this state of mind). Endless expansion is the mode of existence of Islam. It is still astonishing to me that some people still do not see this. Islam is imperialist, and it is indeed its necessary mode of survival. Without the threat of death for apostasy, with real freedom of worship, hardly anyone would be a Muslim.

Coming back to Charles Saint-Prot, he now proposes an economic alliance with the Maghreb countries, particularly Morocco, convinced that France’s future is here. In fact, he especially wants to flee the EU (which is understandable) and takes refuge in a fantasized return to modern French North Africa (A.F.N). Dreams, fantasies, but nothing serious.

The desire to exonerate Islam prevents lucid analysis. Islam is an evil with many harmful faces. To ignore it is to be seriously mistaken.
