The Wall Street Journal reported that the United States convened senior Middle East armies in March, including representatives of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

Sources in the United States and the region noted that the meeting, which was declared secret, was intended to examine how the armies could coordinate moves against Iran's growing missile and glider capabilities. 

Senior Israeli military commanders, including Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, attended the conference along with his Saudi counterpart Fayyad bin Hamed al-Rawili. Senior officials from Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar also attended the conference.
