Hezbollah's tactical listening systems in action in Syria: Russians not happy

Hezbollah is listening to Russian media outlets in the eastern Syrian province of Deir Az-Zor
During the Yom Kippur War, the IDF realized that critical tactical intelligence did not reach the combat units, which is why mobile intelligence units were set up equipped with dedicated APCs equipped with the best listening equipment that can be operated at the field level while covering the combat division of the fighting division to which they belong.

Over the years, Israel has developed a full-fledged mobile intelligence system and it has been used in all subsequent operations.

The activity of Israeli mobile intelligence units has not escaped the attention of Hezbollah and they, in conjunction with the Iranians, decided to develop a similarly integrated warfare system. IDF forces that infiltrated Lebanon found tactical listening facilities along the southern Lebanese border and also to the north.

During Hezbollah's involvement in the battles in Syria, mobile intelligence systems were activated for the benefit of the forces on the ground, and even today, they are used for the benefit of their own interests and those of the Iranians in territories in control with the Russians and other forces involved in fighting throughout Syria.

This topic of tactical listening systems in the field is a topic that no one likes to reveal abilities but from time to time news comes up that exposes the tip of the iceberg of the topic.

A Syrian news website reported yesterday that "Russian forces present at Deir a-Zor (military/civilian) airport have informed the Hezbollah command, located in the rural development building in the Harbish neighborhood, that they should immediately remove the antenna column installed on the roof of the building.
The reporter added that the Russian forces justified their request by noting that Hezbollah eavesdrop on incoming and outgoing calls in the area, including those of the Russian forces.

The areas controlled by the Syrian regime in Deir a-Zour are now witnessing a rift between the Iranians and the Russians, and between the militias supported by both sides in the region.

For a long time now, there has been a struggle for control between the Russians and the Iranians over all areas of eastern Syria, including those near the Iraqi border. Iran has set itself the strategic goal of fully controlling all areas near the Iraqi border, mainly to secure the head of the land bridge that stretches from Tehran, through Iraq, through Syria to Lebanon, and the shores of the Mediterranean. The land bridge allows Iran to flow forces and weapons to all the proxy forces deployed along the land bridge thus ensuring their full control over what is happening in these countries.
