At the first meeting of the Negev Forum Steering Committee since the summit in Sde Boker, where Foreign Minister Lapid hosted US foreign ministers, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Egypt, the six founding nations decided to work harder to bring prosperity and stability to the Middle East.
The meeting is of particular importance in light of the expected visit of US President Biden to Israel and Saudi Arabia and the American commitment to expanding the circle of peace.
At the steering conference, the member states discussed the operative ways in which cooperation can be promoted in a way that will lead to tangible achievements for the region and its people. The convening of the Steering Conference is further evidence of the importance that the founding countries see in the forum in anchoring the framework and regional cooperation created in it in a variety of civic, security and prosperity areas that will contribute to the region and its people, without geographical or political boundaries.
