DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – ISIS, through media close to it, claimed on Wednesday responsibility for targeting a military vehicle of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and it published a video of the operation in the town of Suwar, 70 km north of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
ISIS militants targeted with automatic weapons a four-wheel drive vehicle of the SDF on December 26, on the main road in the town of Suwar, the Amaq News Agency, which is close to ISIS published a statement.
“The vehicle was damaged and the members inside it were killed and wounded,” it said.
Commenting on the news, a military source of the SDF in the same town denied killing any SDF members in that operation, he told North Press.
According to the source, unidentified gunmen targeted a military vehicle with machine guns three days ago on the main road in the town, adding that it caused two minor injuries.
ISIS, through websites close to it, usually orally claims killings or attacks. However, it claimed the attack this time by publishing a video of the operation showing ISIS members shooting at the car. It had not published a video of its operations for nearly two months.
Recently, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing increase in cases of killing SDF members, employees of the Autonomous Administration, tribal dignitaries and civilians. ISIS often claims the responsibility for such cases.
