Israeli Gov't to 'Privatize Kosher World'
Walla! News 20.07.2021
Minister of Religious Services Matan Kahana presented Tuesday his new plan to reform the kosher array of Israel’s Chief Rabbinate.
“I am privatizing the Kosher world,” Kahana stated, as his outline permits private bodies to manage the kosher food field.
According to the plan, kosher companies that fit Judaism’s Halakha (Jewish law) as determined by the Chief Rabbinate, and prove economic efficiency, will receive kosher certificates.
“The citizens of Israel deserve better kosher services,” Kahana stipulated. “The kosher revolution will strengthen the Chief Rabbinate, will bring new professional kosher organizations and will create competition that will lower prices and improve the kosher quality.”
