Jordanian Islamic scholar Dr. Ahmad Al-Shahrouri said on a February 15, 2023 show on Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas-Gaza) that Arab and Islamic universities have "inferior" rankings because the Islamic nation has been spending too much money on archeology, tourism, and entertainment instead of on culture, science, and Jihad
He said that in the past, the Ottoman Caliphate would collect the jizya poll-tax from Western countries and the Europeans had feared Sultan Abdul Hamid, but that the weakness of the Islamic nation today has led to the occupation of Palestine.
Later in the show, he claimed that the Zionists had "rejoiced and gloated" over the suffering of the victims of the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria, and he threatened that Zionists' end will come at the hands of Turks, Syrians, Palestinians, and Jordanians.
He added: "Your days are numbered."
