The (independent) Syrian Observatory reported that the Israeli bombing was aimed at pro-Iranian militias near the capital Damascus and Damascus International Airport. It added that most of the Israeli missiles hit the target sites, and that a drastic decrease in the intensity of the counter-reaction of the Syrian army's air defense systems was noticed.
Syrian sources stated that earlier the Iranian cargo ship "Arzin Rasat" arrived at the port of Tartus and unloaded it and immediately afterwards hurried to leave the port and sail to the heart of the sea.
Sources added that the cargo unloaded by the Iranian ship was loaded on a convoy of trucks destined to reach Hezbollah warehouses in northern Lebanon and then came the Israeli attack that managed to destroy the convoy.
