UNWRA stops helping Palestinian refugees in Lebanon

The relief agency for Palestinian refugees UNRWA will stop registering Palestinian refugees arriving from Syria to Lebanon as of the next day, August 1, 2022

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has announced that it will stop registering Palestinian refugees coming from Syria to Lebanon starting next Monday, which means they will not be eligible for periodic financial assistance.

UNRWA attributed its decision to a lack of funding and the inability to provide financial assistance to Palestinian-Syrians currently living in Lebanon, who were supposed to be eligible to receive all of the agency's services beginning next month.
