The commander of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet in the Middle East, Lt. Admiral Brad Cooper, announced Monday in an exclusive interview with Al-Hura that the Navy seeks to deploy 100 unmanned naval vehicles in the Gulf by the summer of next year.
Cooper added that he is working with regional partners to take advantage of the new systems based on artificial intelligence, and expressed "his excitement about the future in partnership with our allies in the region".
"Through the use of artificial intelligence and unmanned systems, we are trying to put more eyes on the water in the bay," he said.
