Due to the security situation in Ethiopia: It was decided to expedite the immigration of 5,000 Ethiopian Jews to Israel
The decision comes after a discussion between Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked and Absorption Minister Pnina Temano-Sheta.

This is despite the fact that representatives of the National Security Council and other security officials presented a situation assessment according to which the security situation in Ethiopia does not at this stage necessitate an emergency operation to evacuate those awaiting immigration to Israel.
