The Israel Medical Association launched a strike Monday across Israel following the Finance Ministry’s decision to cancel 600 standards that were added to hospitals during the coronavirus crisis. Dozens of interns have demonstrated at Habima Square in Tel Aviv, as hospitals are operating in an emergency capacity for 24 hours. Health Minister Yuli Edelstein expressed his support of the physicians and said that “my heart on this day is with the doctors. Their demand is very just. The Finance Ministry and the entire government are obligated not just to dismiss medical teams that were absorbed during the pandemic but more should be added.”
