Although the Supreme Leader instructed the police and the IRGC Revolutionary Guards to do whatever was necessary and use all means to suppress the Iranian protests, and despite widespread arrests, dispersal of demonstrations and ordinary people on the street, the protests continue and expand.

With them also came protests and calls for solidarity throughout Iran with the people of Abadan and with dozens of victims in the collapse of the building in the city.
