Red Sea terror attack prevented: 2 Iranian inferno boats were destroyed in the sea off the coast of Yemen

It comes days after the coalition destroyed another Houthi militia inferno in the southern Red Sea.

On Saturday, the Yemeni army announced the destruction of two remotely controlled inferno boats belonging to the Iranian Houthi militia while trying to cross territorial waters in the northwestern Red Sea.

The Yemeni military communications center said in an urgent and brief statement that "the Fifth Military Command's naval force destroyed two explosive and remotely controlled inferno boats belonging to the Iranian Houthi militia while trying to cross territorial waters in the northwestern Red Sea." No further details were given about the incident.

The attempted attack comes just days after the Saudi-led Arab coalition in Yemen destroyed another infernal boat that belonged to the Houthi militia in the southern Red Sea.

The coalition further announced that the militia had used the port of Hudaydeh as a port of departure to launch the inferno boat, noting that the Houthis' use of the port was a military threat to global shipping and trade.

The legitimate Yemeni government sees the continued attempts by the Iranian Houthi terrorist militia to harm commercial ships as "a natural result of international silence and the disappearance of its activities threatening security in the region and the safety of shipping routes and world trade in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab."

The Yemeni government has further accused the Iranian Revolutionary Guards of being behind it in oversight, planning and armaments.

Yemeni Information Minister Muammar Al-Iranian noted that the Houthi militia sees the global lack of response and international disregard for the crimes, violations and terrorist activities it is carrying out as a "green light for further escalation".

Al-Ariyani confirmed, in tweets on his Twitter page, that the regime in Tehran is behind these activities to showcase its tools in the region and its capabilities to undermine the security and stability of the region, and threaten international interests.

The Yemeni Information Minister has called on the international community, the United Nations, the Security Council and the UN and US envoys to clearly condemn the terrorist activities carried out by the Houthi militia from the ports of Hudaydah, and to fulfill their responsibility in confronting them.

He also called for including the Houthi militia in the terror lists, and for prosecuting its leaders in international courts.
