Israel and Honduras have announced, in a joint statement, the opening of embassies in both countries capitals
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Honduran President Juan Orlando Arnands spoke tonight (Sunday) and announced the opening of embassies in Jerusalem and Tegucigalpa.
During their conversation, President Arnands congratulated Prime Minister Netanyahu on the normalization agreements signed last week in Washington with Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates and sent greetings on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year). Netanyahu expressed his appreciation for the support Israel receives from Honduras and reiterated his country's commitment to strengthening the partnership through development, cooperation, tourism, investment, technology, agriculture, education, and trade.
"I spoke with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to strengthen our strategic partnership and discuss the opening of embassies in Jerusalem and Tegucigalpa," Orlando wrote on his Twitter account. "We hope to make this historic move by the end of the year."
