Israeli Icon in the Fight Against Breast Cancer
Hundreds of pink chairs were placed in the heart of Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan as part of two new installation artworks initiated by Keter in collaboration with the One in Nine non-profit organization, Tel Aviv Municipality and Ramat Gan Municipality.
Under the cover of darkness, hundreds of pink chairs were joined to form the pink ribbon, the symbol of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
A sign was erected next to each installation, explaining the importance of early detection and urging women to get tested, under the caption: “Take a seat. It might save your life”, along with a QR code to be scanned for life-saving information.
Udi Sagi and Iftach Sachar, co-CEOs of Keter: “As a company that champions women’s empowerment and their professional promotion in industry, and as a global company founded in Israel whose products have been a fixture in every home in the country for seven decades, we chose to take the Israeli icon, the Keter plastic chair, and manufacture it in pink.
“We believe in community involvement, and as such, it is our duty, through actions that generate discourse, to promote women’s health and the fight against breast cancer.
“We are proud to be furthering this project in collaboration with the One in Nine association, and the Ramat Gan and Tel Aviv Municipalities.”
