Is Russia Responsible for US Cyber Attack? Recently, multiple US Federal Institutions have reported a cyber security breach. Of the branches hacked are the energy, commerce, treasury and state departments. The purpose of the hack is reported to be an effort to steal sensitive information. Many American officials have gone on the record, including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, saying that the attack is clearly linked to Russia, even while President Trump remains skeptical and suspects China.
