NEWSRAEL Editor: We have been writing in the last weeks several editorials regarding Europe. Make no mistake! Europe is in danger and hopes by sacrificing Israel, it will somehow be able to live a little longer.
A political tsunami is crashing down on Israel from Europe, with several EU countries announcing they will recognize a "State of Palestine"—regardless of facts on the ground or the reality of terrorism.
In the wake of the massive earthquake in Russia, tsunami warnings were issued across the Pacific. Now, Israel is facing a diplomatic tsunami of its own.
Many EU states have declared their plans to recognize a Palestinian state. Other countries may soon follow. This is not a ripple—it’s a wave aimed at undermining Israel’s legitimacy and rewarding terror.
Israel must respond forcefully and strategically. First, Jerusalem should minimize diplomatic ties with these countries: reduce the size and activities of their missions in Israel, and limit their access and influence in the Palestinian Authority and Gaza. If they want to bypass Israel diplomatically, then Israel should bypass them physically.
Second, any country that directly funds the PA—while it continues to pay salaries to terrorists—should have their aid routes and access frozen. Enough is enough.
Third, it is time to bring forward the annexation of key areas of Judea and Samaria. These lands are the heart of our ancestral homeland. The world must know: we will not negotiate our existence.
And finally, Israel must fight not only on the battlefield, but also in the battle of perception.
A significant investment in a world-class PR campaign—through major international firms—should begin now. Israel is not telling its story effectively, and in the void, others are telling lies.
Israel may not be able to stop the waves, but we can build higher ground.
