Tehran is shut down - and unbearable
Living conditions in Tehran are unbearable these days as the fragile water and electricity infrastructures cannot meet the demand.

Due to unusual temperatures and high energy consumption, all government bodies, universities, schools, and educational institutions in Tehran province are shut down, announced the provincial governor, Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian.
He said: "We thank the public for their cooperation and hope to see an improvement in energy consumption balance."
The purpose of the shutdown is critical saving of electricity and water, according to the demand of the Iranian Ministry of Energy. Banks are also closed except for duty branches that will operate until noon.
