The Emirati academic Abdul Khalek Abdullah, who some claim is close to the decision makers in Abu Dhabi, caused a storm on the networks after he wrote that the administration of the Gaza Strip should be transferred to the Emirates.
According to Abdullah, if this happens within a decade the Gaza Strip will be similar to Dubai and will provide respectable living conditions for its 2.5 million residents.
He added that the management of the emirates will turn Gaza into such a tourist, financial and commercial center that it will attract the best Palestinian and Arab talents.
Many attacked Abdullah for these words and claimed that the Emirates that controls the Yemeni city of Aden failed there in turning it into a prosperous city.
The reaction of one of the richest men in the Arab world, Nagiv Sawiris, who responded to the Emirati academic: "This is the best idea" is actually interesting.
