In a March 30, 2026 interview, Lebanese researcher and university professor Makram Rabah delivered a scathing condemnation of Hezbollah and its Iranian backing, arguing that Lebanon must rid itself of what he described as entrenched Iranian influence.
He warned that the country risks fragmentation unless decisive action is taken to remove Hezbollah operatives embedded across civilian infrastructure.
Rabah accused Hezbollah members of blending into society while advancing Iran’s agenda, claiming they operate within neighborhoods, schools, and public spaces. He further alleged that Lebanese individuals assisting them—particularly those moving funds through Gulf countries—could face serious consequences, including expulsion.
Rabah also called for direct action against IRGC operatives in Lebanon, stating that their presence constitutes a crime against the Lebanese people.
