Since then, they have been working non-stop in the heart of the Gaza Strip, against the deepest terrorist nests of Hamas. So how do you translate the unique experience and capabilities to the southern arena as well? We heard from those who are on the front lines!

When they walk through the narrow alleys, surrounded by mosques and inscriptions in Arabic, the commandos almost forget for a moment that they are even on a crowded street in the heart of Khan Yunis - the terror nest of Hamas, and not in the villages they are so familiar with in Judea & Samaria.

But the task they carry out after dark is almost the same as the one in the eastern sector - thwarting terrorism and eliminating terrorists with precise operations.

And it's not just that they are there. 

Duvdevan is one of the most classified units in the IDF, and specializes in operational activity in areas you might not think of. They are skilled in carrying out arrests and targeted countermeasures, with the help of advanced capabilities and classified means, deep in hostile territory - without the enemy realizing they were there at all.

And if you will hardly hear about them, about their 100 team - obviously we can't go into too much detail. 

What can be said is that this is the top of the Unit. A team with abilities and classified hacking training that you will only find there. 

Therefore, there is almost no mission that Team 100 is not a part of. On a day-to-day basis, the fighters work in arrests and encounters against terrorists in Judea & Samaria, and know the area like the back of their hand. Now, in the war, they have reached another sector - the south.

"On 10/7," recounts Major T., a fighter in Team 100, "we heard what was happening and immediately went into action. We all arrived at the house of one of the fighters, got on equipment and prepared to go out together, because we are best as a team. At 10 in the morning we were already fighting in the towns on the border."

Together with other forces, they operated for more than 36 consecutive hours: they conducted face-to-face battles against terrorists, evacuated the wounded and cleared the Kibbutz houses. 

In the days leading up to the ground entry into Gaza, the team returned to its "home ground" - the refugee camps in Judea & Samaria. The scenes of 10/7 are still burned into their memories, but they know they cannot take their foot off the gas in the division - not even for a moment.

One night, after a successful operation in the Jenin military base, the order came down - in two days they would go south and enter the fighting in the Gaza Strip. 

As Lt. Col. S., an officer in the team explains, the new terrain route did not deter: "Encountering terrorists is the same in Gaza And in Judea & Samaria - a charge is a charge and a gun is a gun. We came with an advantage, because we are used to these extreme situations, and this is our profession."

"We are used to specific activities," he continues, "even when it comes to complex environments with a civilian population. We will know how to eliminate the terrorists and close an event, without harming innocent people who are in the same area or building."

"On the first night, when we entered Khan Yunis, we advanced on a complex axis," recalls Major General T. "That's when I realized how good we are at working as a team. The transition between the houses - from each of which a terror cell could come out, was almost perfect, exact. We are according to the book - covering each other, jumping and shooting. You feel safer because you have a fighter next to you that you trust like a brothers, and know that each one will do everything to protect you."

The moment they remember the most is the night they lost teammates, while they were deep in the terrorist stronghold of Hamas, in the center of the Gaza Strip: "We split into 2 squads, after we broke the door to locate them, we heard an explosion behind us. We waited for an update on the connection, there was a moment of silence - that's what the scariest part is, a few seconds later we already heard that a medical squad was on their way and realized that our friends were injured. Only after that, did we realize the magnitude of the incident."

"They are our brothers," declares Major General T. "The entire 100 team is one fist, from the youngest to the reservists, we are family, the moments we realized that the late Major General Liav Elosh, Major General (acting) Amri Michaeli The late and Sergeant Major (resp.) Eitan Naa, are not with us, it was difficult. But you're still in enemy territory, so you move forward and don't give up, but now, it's for them too. They would be angry if we didn't continue to act and complete the goals of the war, and we don't forget that."

The members of the team do not stop fighting in the various sectors, in ways that cannot be revealed, but they are determined to succeed every command and face every challenge in their way. 

"The mentality throughout the training and service in Duvdevan is to raise your head, fight and act to complete the mission," concludes Major Sh., "but quietly."
