Not all "amazing Israeli ideas for attacks no one ever thought of" - like exploding beepers needs to be done by meticulous planning taking years - some are actually MUCH simpler!
Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has formally requested that the Governor of the Bank of Israel, Prof. Amir Yaron, cancel the legal tender status of certain 200-shekel notes—aiming to undermine the financial base of Hamas in Gaza.
According to Sa’ar, Hamas relies heavily on physical cash circulating in Gaza, estimated to amount to billions of shekels. A volunteer expert team assessed that approximately 80% of Hamas’ cash holdings are in the form of 200-shekel notes.
“These banknotes serve Hamas as working capital, backed by billions of shekels,” Sa’ar wrote in his letter. “The team believes that revoking the legal tender status of these notes would severely damage Hamas’ economic capabilities—impacting its ability to recruit terrorists, pay salaries, and purchase weapons and logistics.”
The proposal, if implemented, would be a dramatic step toward cutting off Hamas’ financial oxygen. “Time is of the essence,” Sa’ar concluded. “We must act now.”
