Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office announced that Hamas’s Nukhba terrorists will not receive visits from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as long as the same access is denied to Israeli hostages in Gaza.
The statement came after a High Court petition sought to allow Red Cross visits to Hamas prisoners.
According to the National Security Council, the government’s unified stance—shared by the IDF, Shin Bet, the NSC, and the defense, justice, and foreign ministries—is to oppose such visits for Hamas and Islamic Jihad prisoners from Gaza until hostages are treated similarly.
Visits to other inmates remain possible, subject to security approval. Netanyahu removed the issue from the cabinet’s agenda after sharply criticizing leaks from the Ministry of National Security.
