Egyptian author Ibrahim Eissa delivered a scathing critique of Iran’s ruling regime during an April 10, 2026 interview, describing it as “nihilistic and suicidal” and driven by the ideology of political Islam.
According to Eissa, such regimes never admit defeat, instead consistently declaring victory regardless of the reality on the ground.
He pointed to past examples, noting how Hamas and Hezbollah proclaimed “divine victories” even during periods of significant military pressure and territorial loss. Eissa argued that this pattern reflects a deeper ideological mindset that prioritizes narrative over reality, allowing these movements to sustain support despite setbacks.
In a striking statement, Eissa emphasized that Iran poses a greater threat than Israel, asserting that Tehran’s influence is more dangerous due to its ideological reach within the Muslim world. He warned that public focus on Israel diverts attention from Iran’s ongoing expansionist activities, which he said are already being implemented across the region.
