If the results are not "engineered" in the coming hours, it appears that Hezbollah and its allies have lost the majority in the Lebanese parliament, based on yesterday's elections.
According to unofficial results, there has been great successes among the independent candidates, including in southern Lebanon, a stronghold of Hezbollah. Also a big success for the "Lebanese Forces" party of Samir Geagea hated by Nasrallah and his men.
As of this writing, there are no official results yet, but it seems that Hezbollah and its allies will not be able to reach a majority of 65 seats. This is a great achievement for opponents of Hezbollah and Iran since in Sunni strongholds and especially in Tripoli in the north, the vast majority of voters boycotted the elections. It should be noted that in the current parliament Hezbollah and its allies had 71 seats.
