Six members of regime-backed groups were killed and nearly ten others were injured in violent clashes with ISIS in Al-Shola desert in Deir Ezzor countryside.
According to SOHR sources, ISIS members attacked groups of the National Defence Forces and “Liwaa Al-Quds,” while they were searching for sheep herders who were kidnapped by ISIS earlier today in Al-Shola desert.
Meanwhile, Russian fighter jets flew over the area, while NDF brought in military reinforcement to the desert, amid reports on the kidnapping of five shepherds and stealing their sheep.
Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that ISIS attacked a group of shepherds in Al-Shola desert in Deir Ezzor countryside.
According to SOHR statistics, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2023 has increased to 440; and they are as follows:
27 ISIS members were killed in clashes with regime forces and Russian airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in the deserts of Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama, Al-Raqqah, Deir Ezzor and Aleppo.
256 members of regime forces and their proxy militias, including 37 Iranian-backed Syrian and non-Syrian militiamen, were killed in 106 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks, and explosions, in west Euphrates region and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs, Al-Suwaidaa, Hama and Aleppo.
157 civilians, including a woman, were killed in attacks by ISIS in the Syrian desert.
