In the last few days, various activists claim on the networks that the number of dead in the Gaza Strip is 186,000, more than four times what Hamas claims, about 40,000.
The background is an article published in the respected British medical magazine Lancet in which this number appeared.
But it turned out that it was not an article at all but a letter to the editor, and that one of the writers clarified that it was "illustrative numbers". In other words, FAKE NEWS.
And so a new Blood Libel was born, one which was cited by UN experts, news websites, influencers, and more and more popular sources.
