Germany signs $2 billion deal with Rafael for Spike missiles
Germany has signed a $2 billion deal with Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to acquire Spike anti-tank missiles.
The agreement marks one of the largest European purchases of Israeli defense technology in recent years, strengthening defense ties between Berlin and Jerusalem.
The missiles, which were originally intended for Spain, will now be redirected to the German army. The sudden shift has reportedly enraged Spanish officers, who are criticizing their government’s decision-making and calling it “stupid” for losing a key weapons supply.
