IDF rescues an American who had a heart attack on a cruise ship near Israel

The Israeli Air Force’s elite helicopter-borne search and rescue unit 669 evacuated an elderly American citizen from a cruise in the Mediterranean early this morning, after she apparently had a heart attack.

According to military sources, the evacuation was made following a request made by American officials.

The American citizen was evacuated by helicopter and transferred for further medical treatment at the Rambam Hospital in Haifa.
