Former Iranian foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki openly called for the killing of President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, framing it as “blood vengeance” for the assassination of Ali Khamenei.
In an interview on Iranian state television, Mottaki said the Iranian people are chanting for revenge and pledging allegiance to Mojtaba Khamenei. He claimed Islam recognizes the principle of “an eye for an eye” and argued that Iran has the right to avenge Khamenei by targeting those he described as responsible.
Mottaki added that this demand was not included in the 14 articles of the recent memorandum of understanding, but said it could be added. He declared that Trump must understand he is viewed by the Iranian public as a murderer and that Iran has the right to avenge what he called the blood of its martyred imam.
The host pushed the rhetoric even further, arguing that killing Trump or Netanyahu would not be enough, and that revenge should be “strategic,” including the expulsion of US forces from the region and the “liberation of Jerusalem.” Mottaki replied that there was no contradiction between these goals.
